Rev. Jason Hong is a graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (class of 2001). He was ordained and installed as pastor of Grace Lutheran
Church on July 17, 2005. While Pastor Jason has quite a sweet tooth (he really likes chocolate!), his true passion lies in preaching and
teaching Jesus Christ. He firmly believes that the Gospel "is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).
Working together with the family of faith at Grace Lutheran, he hopes to further God's mission of seeking and saving the lost with the
same Gospel message that saved him. Soli Deo Gloria!
Deacon Gerry Mattijetz was born, raised, and educated in southern California. He has been a lifelong member of the LCMS, and been privileged to serve the Lord as Sunday School teacher, adult Bible class teacher, youth activities director, Elder, choir member, and retreat coordinator; he now serves on Grace's Board of Elders, and as Deacon. Deacon Gary Wiedle was commissioned in March 2006 after two and a half years of study in the Lay Leadership Training Program. He brings a wide range of educational, military, and business experience. He served in Vietnam as an Infantry Commander and was an Airborne and Special Forces 1st Lieutenant who received two decorations for heroism! He also served in local government and operated his own management company. He leaves all that behind to join us at Grace Lutheran Church. Deacon Gary says, "Now I am fully committed to serving the Lord and the Church and enjoy the personal growth that comes from serving others through preaching, teaching and care giving."
